Libro consigliato: All'altro capo del guinzaglio

Di recente ho letto questo saggio illuminante di Patricia McConnell. Ci insegna a capire come i nostri movimenti e il nostro tono di voce influenzano i nostri cani.

Da quando applico i suoi consigli, le passeggiate con Bruna sono diventate molto più rilassanti. A volte dimentichiamo che per comunicare con loro, dobbiamo prima imparare a "parlare" la loro lingua corporea.

I recently read this enlightening essay by Patricia McConnell. It teaches us to understand how our movements and our tone of voice influence our dogs.

Since I started applying her advice, walks with Bruna have become much more relaxing. Sometimes we forget that to communicate with them, we must first learn to "speak" their body language.

LA GIORNATA TIPO DI BRUNA

Come passa le giornate un incrocio Labrador/Corso? Principalmente... dormendo. Ma quando è sveglia, le sue priorità sono molto chiare:

• Controllare cosa bolle in pentola (letteralmente).
• Passeggiare in natura.
• Cercare coccole sul divano.

Ogni cane ha il suo carattere, ma la dolcezza di Bruna è disarmante. Raccontatemi nei commenti le abitudini dei vostri animali!

How does a Labrador/Corso mix spend her days? Mostly... sleeping. But when she is awake, her priorities are very clear:

• Checking what's cooking (literally).
• Walking in nature.
• Looking for cuddles on the couch.

Oggi vi parlo di un classico intramontabile che ogni amante degli animali dovrebbe leggere almeno una volta nella vita. La storia del lupo che scopre il mondo degli uomini è cruda, ma incredibilmente reale.

Guardando Bruna, con il suo istinto e la sua dolcezza, capisco perfettamente l'ambivalenza tra natura selvaggia e amore domestico descritta da London.

Today I'm talking about a timeless classic that every animal lover should read at least once in their life. The story of the wolf discovering the world of men is raw, but incredibly real.

Looking at Bruna, with her instinct and her sweetness, I perfectly understand the ambivalence between wild nature and domestic love described by London.
